Our 5th Annual Championship Show promises to be an exciting one with 25 classes including the All Ireland Broodmare Championship for the Lady de Vesci Cup and the Sarah Miller Perpetual Cup going to the winner of the Future Performance Class sponsored by the Irish Horse Board  There are qualifying events for:

The Late Sarah Miller

It was with great regret the Midlands Connermara Pony Breeders mourned the loss of Sarah Miller last September.  At the time of her passing, Sarah was our Chairperson and during her short reign in this position had initiated new events and also advanced the status of the Annual Show. Throughout the Connemara world for over fifty years, she was a highly respected pony judge and educator who had a specific interest in passing on her knowledge to the young pony enthusiast and who always advocated bone, movement, substance and quality.

She will be greatly missed by all concerned. May she rest in peace.

2008 Stallion Parade

This year’s Stallion Parade took place at Annagharvey Equestrian Centre on Sunday, 16th March.  A total of 31 stallions were displayed on the day coming from all four provinces including a strong representation from the Midlands.  The event attracted a huge spectator audience again from all regions and was generally regarded as highly informative and entertaining.  Fortunately the weather conditions remained dry but cold for the event.  It could be claimed that this event is the springboard for the ‘Connemara pony season’ and in this regard all who participated and were involved are to be applauded.
